About
The software is new. The method is not.
ReferraLens is built by the person who used to do this job by hand, at a practice like yours, for fifteen years.
My wife, Dr. Kerry Stein, opened Marion Endodontics in 2006. I have been part of that practice since the first day: office manager, marketing, and the person who ran the referral thank-yous by hand. The spreadsheet of referring dentists. The headcounts. The allergy notes. The December run, thirty letters and thirty boxes, always in the two weeks when the office was busiest. The office that moved and nobody told us.
The part that always bothered me was the other direction: the dentist who quietly stopped sending, and the six months it took anyone to notice. The report that would have told us sat in the practice software the whole time. It just showed a total instead of a change.
What I learned in those fifteen years is that the gift was never the point. The point was that somebody in our office knew the name of the person at the front desk, knew her daughter had just started at Ohio State, and said so. Referrals are relationships between people who are all too busy, and they end the same way they are kept: quietly, one month at a time.
ReferraLens is that method, written down and made to run every month. I built it at Buckeye Biz Hub, where I spend my time helping small businesses grow. Marion is where it was tested, because Marion is where the problem lives. I do every walkthrough myself, and I place every thank-you order myself. If you email David@referralens.com, it is me who answers.

Who builds it
ReferraLens is built by Buckeye Biz Hub, LLC, my own company, registered in Columbus, Ohio. Buckeye Biz Hub does marketing and printing for small businesses, which is why the thank-you side works the way it does: the letter that goes in the box, your logo on the bag, the card that gets kept on somebody's fridge. We were already doing that part for a living before there was any software.
Before Buckeye Biz Hub I ran a third-generation family auto repair business in Columbus, then started BeerTubes in my basement — a patented product company that ended up in the on-premise catalogs of Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors before I sold it in 2017 — and then opened three restaurants in a single year. I started Buckeye Biz Hub in 2025. The company is new. I am not.
ReferraLens is the company's product, not a side project, and it is the only thing this site sells. If you want to see the rest of what Buckeye Biz Hub does, it is at buckeyebizhub.com. Nothing there touches your ReferraLens data, and we will not use one to sell you the other.

What we will never do with your data
Your referral book is the most sensitive list in your practice that is not a patient record, and we treat it that way. We do not sell, share, license or trade it. We do not use it for benchmarking, industry averages, marketing claims or case studies. We do not contact the dentists named in your reports, and we do not use their names or addresses for anything of our own. Every figure quoted on this site comes from one pilot practice that gave written permission, with the names removed. If you stop, everything is deleted within thirty days.
